Gegründet im Jahre 1999, hat sich das Bach Consort Wien rasch zu einem der wichtigsten Barockensembles Österreichs entwickelt.

 

Nach ersten erfolgreichen Konzertreihen in der Wiener Hofburgkapelle und im Palais Eschenbach hat das Bach Consort Wien seine künstlerische Heimat im Wiener Musikverein gefunden, wo Künstler wie Emma Kirkby, Bernarda Fink, Florian Boesch, Daniel Johannsen, Theresa Dlouhy, Georg Nigl, Robin Johannsen und Christophe Coin als Gäste des Ensembles aufgetreten sind.

 

Das Bach Consort Wien ist in Konzertsälen wie dem Brucknerhaus Linz, dem Palau de la Música in Barcelona sowie bei bedeutenden Festivals in Spanien, Portugal, Deutschland, Kroatien und Österreich regelmäßig zu Gast.

 

In der intensiven Auseinandersetzung mit den Werken Johann Sebastian Bachs hat das Bach Consort Wien seine spezifische musikalische Sprache gefunden. Dabei wird die Ensemblegröße nach dem Prinzip „so klein wie noch sinnvoll“ für jedes Werk neu gewählt. Diese oft solistische Besetzung ermöglicht die charakteristische Durchsichtigkeit und Aussagekraft des Ensembles.

 

Kern des Repertoires ist das Werk Johann Sebastian Bachs, insbesondere sein Kantatenwerk ist dem Ensemble ein besonderes Anliegen. Aufgeführt wurden Solokantaten bis hin zu großen Chor-Orchester-Werken wie die Passionen, die H-Moll Messe, das Magnificat und die Motetten.

 

Die Konzerte des Bach Consort Wien wurden vom Österreichischen Rundfunk, Südwestfunk (D) und Catalunya Música aufgezeichnet.

 

November 2008 war das Bach Consort Wien das Hausensemble des ersten Countertenor Festivals „Farineli & Söhne“ im ORF RadioKulturhaus in Wien.

 

Kommende Projekte beinhalten Johann Sebastian Bachs G-Dur Messe, Weihnachtsoratorium, Johannes Passion und Brandenburgische Konzerte, Johann Josef Fux Oratorium „Cristo nell’orto“ bei den Festivals Osterklang und Psalm 2010 sowie zum ersten Mal ein großes klassisches Oratorium, „Die Jahreszeiten“ von Joseph Haydn. Zukünftige Konzerte sind mit den Solisten Patricia Petitbon, Verónica Cangemi, Bernarda Fink, Mariselle Martínez, Kirsten Blaise, Yeree Suh, Terry Wey und Florian Boesch in der Schweiz, Spanien, Italien, Frankreich, Portugal und Österreich geplant.

 

 

 

 

Founded in 1999, the Bach Consort Wien rapidly became one of Austria’s most significant baroque ensembles.

 

After a series of successful concerts in the Hofburgkapelle in Vienna and the Palais Eschenbach, the Bach Consort Wien found its artistic home in the Wiener Musikverein where artists such as Emma Kirkby, Bernarda Fink, Florian Boesch, Daniel Johannsen, Theresa Dlouhy, Georg Nigl, Robin Johannsen and Christophe Coin have already performed as guests of the ensemble.

 

The Bach Consort Wien is also regularly invited to perform in concert halls such as the Brucknerhaus in Linz and the Palau de la Música in Barcelona as well as in a number of important music festivals in Germany, Spain, Portugal and Croatia.

 

The ensemble found its specific musical language in the intensive study and analysis of Johann Sebastian Bach’s work. The size of the ensemble varies according to the repertoire played and follows the principal “as small as still sense-making”. The resulting clarity, force of expression and personality are the particular characteristics of the Bach Consort Wien.

 

The ensemble’s core repertoire is the work of Johann Sebastian Bach and in particular his vocal music ranging from solo cantatas to great choral and orchestral works such as the Passions, the B minor Mass, the Magnificat and the Mottets.

 

Concerts of the ensemble have been recorded by the ORF (Austrian national radio and television), the SWR (South West German radio) as well as Catalunya Música.

 

In November 2008, the Bach Consort Wien was the accompanying ensemble of the first Viennese “Countertenor Festival” in the Concert Hall of the Austrian National Radio.

 

Future projects include Johann Sebastian Bach’s G Major Mass, Christmas Oratorio, St John’s Passion and Brandenburg Concertos, an Oratorio from the Austrian composer Johann Josef Fux „Cristo nell’orto“ at the Festivals Osterklang and Psalm 2010 as well as a first time great classical oratorio, „The Seasons“ from Joseph Haydn. Concerts will take the Bach Consort Wien and invited guests such as Patricia Petitbon, Verónica Cangemi, Bernarda Fink, Mariselle Martínez, Kirsten Blaise, Yeree Suh, Terry Wey and Florian Boesch to Switzerland, Italy, Spain, France and Austria.

 

 

 

Fondé en 1999 par de jeunes musiciens, tous forts d’une expérience internationale accumulée en tant que solistes et au sein d’ensembles renommés de musique baroque, le Bach Consort Wien est rapidement devenu l’un des ensembles baroques autrichiens les plus importants.

 

Suite à des débuts acclamés à la Hofburgkapelle et au Palais Eschenbach à Vienne, l’ensemble a trouvé son centre musical au Musikverein de Vienne où des artistes comme Emma Kirkby, Bernarda Fink, Florian Boesch, Daniel Johannsen, Theresa Dlouhy, Georg Nigl, Robin Johannsen et Christophe Coin ont déjà été les invités réguliers du Bach Consort Wien.

 

Le Bach Consort Wien est aussi régulièrement invité à se produire dans de grandes salles de concert comme la Brucknerhaus de Linz et le Palau de la Música de Barcelone ainsi que dans le cadre de nombreux festivals en Espagne, au Portugal, en Allemagne et en Croatie.

 

Son langage musical émane de l’étude intensive de l’oeuvre de Bach à laquelle il se consacre depuis sa création. La taille de l’ensemble diffère selon les oeuvres jouées et suit un principe minimaliste. Cette distribution, qui se réduit souvent à un instrument par partie, permet la clarté et la force d’expression qui sont les caractéristiques du Bach Consort Wien.

 

L’oeuvre de Bach et en particulier ses compositions vocales représentent le noyau du répertoire de l’ensemble. De nombreuses cantates pour voix seule ainsi que des oeuvres chorales et orchestrales d’envergure comme les Passions, la Messe en Si mineur, le Magnificat et les Motets trouvent régulièrement leur place dans sa programmation.

 

De nombreux concerts de l’ensemble ont été enregistrés par la Österreichischer Rundfunk (radio autrichienne), la Südwestrundfunk (radio sud-ouest allemande) et Catalunya Música (radio catalane).

 

En novembre 2008, le Bach Consort Wien a été l’ensemble de la première édition du "Festival de Contre-ténors" à la Maison de la Radio Nationale Autrichienne.

 

Les projets à venir de l’ensemble incluent la Messe en Sol Majeur, l’Oratorio de Noël, La Passion selon St Jean et les concertos brandebourgeois de Johann Sebastian Bach, un oratorio du compositeur autrichien Johann Josef Fux "Cristo nell’Orto" dans le cadre du Osterklang à Vienne et du Festival Psalm à Graz ainsi qu’un grand oratorio classique, "Les Saisons" de Joseph Haydn. La coopération avec les solistes Patricia Petitbon, Verónica Cangemi, Bernarda Fink, Mariselle Martínez, Kirsten Blaise, Yeree Suh, Terry Wey et Florian Boesch va amener le Bach Consort Wien à se produire en Espagne, en Italie, en Suisse et en Autriche.
